STEAM without Technology
- * Science: Encourages observation, questioning, and discovery through observing plants grow, exploring weather, experiments, and exploring cause and effect
- * Engineering: Promotes design thinking through building blocks, design challenges, construction play, and hands-on experiences
- * Arts: Inspires creativity and self-expression, while also strengthening fine motor skills and innovation
- * Mathematics: Develops early numeracy, patterns, sequencing, and spatial awareness through sorting, measuring, and exploring patterns
- * Developmentally, young learners thrive on hands-on and sensory-rich experiences. We do not use screens or digital devices to experience STEAM. Their natural curiosity and play are the foundation for discovery.
Little Chefs
Cooking with children is always an adventure! Twice a month, our students put on their chef hats and prepare delicious dishes from around the globe. This hands-on experience strengthens math, language, and fine motor skills while opening a window into different cultures. From Salvadorian pupusas to Middle Eastern cheese triangles, our children are always excited to taste their creations and expand their culinary horizons.
JAMaRoo Kids’ Dance & Creative Movement
In our Dance and Creative Movement class, instructors from JAMaRoo Kids inspire children to explore rhythm, expression, and body awareness through engaging dance experiences. Community Exploration
Twice each week, our community exploration turns the outdoors and nearby community into a world of discovery. Children set off at a relaxed pace to spot birds, notice plants, listen to neighborhood sounds, and feel different textures under their feet. Along the way, we visit the soccer field, playground, supermarket, and local shops—transforming everyday places into exciting learning adventures. These walks spark curiosity, build independence, encourage movement, and help children feel joyfully connected to both nature and their community.
Soccer Shots
For our little athletes, Soccer Shots bring energy and teamwork to the field! This exciting extracurricular program introduces soccer fundamentals—dribbling, passing, and shooting—through imaginative games and songs. Each class also emphasizes positive character traits like teamwork, respect, and appreciation. Storytime & Early Literacy
Each month, a children’s librarian will visit our school to share storytime in a calm, engaging way that supports children’s natural curiosity and love of language. Through stories, games, gentle conversation, and movement, children build early literacy skills while also strengthening concentration, imagination, and emotional connection. These experiences help children see reading as joyful, meaningful, and part of everyday life.
Additional Enrichment
Our curriculum goes beyond the classroom with yoga sessions, music and dance, and outdoor games – ensuring a well-rounded and joyful learning experience for every child.
